Four More Days

Four more days till we say adieu to this year and 2011 will be part of history. Time flies alright! We are about to start yet another year. We have four more days to make the most of the rest of 2011.

What is your “panata” or pledge for 2012? I saw this on TV and maybe I have four more days to think about this. How about you?

Praying the year 2012 will be more blessed, fruitful, prosperous, peaceful, blissful and healthy for us. Wishing everyone in advance a blessed, healthy, blissful, peaceful and disaster-free 2012!

Raining Non Stop

I think it has been raining non stop for a few hours already. A few friends have posted at FB that they are getting uncomfortable already a few hours earlier. It’s past midnight now. I am praying along with many other people that this rain won’t cause any flood at all. But three hours ago according to the tweet by @dost_pagasa ” Flooding are now experienced in some parts of Barobo and Brgy Bigaan of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.” And this one “Continuous rains are being observed over Lumbia, Cagayan de Oro.” Four hours ago, this was their tweet, “Some areas in San Francisco Agusan del Sur are already flooded.”

The flood caused by typhoon Sendong and the damaged it caused is still very fresh. I cannot even watch TV because it is honestly too painful to comprehend the loss of lives especially of children (being a mother myself) and family members before Christmas. Merely seeing people who lost their loved ones bring so much pain and tears to my eyes. I cannot imagine how it is to be in their place now. So the least I can offer is to pray for them to be strong in faith and be given hope to live and move on as they cope with their loss not just of properties but of their dear loved ones especially during Christmas.

It is raining in Iligan now. There is an LPA over Mindanao and tail of a cold front that is causing this rain. Dear Lord please protect your people and keep us all safe!

Italian Herb Garden as Mother’s Day Gift

Mothers like me are more practical these days. We don’t expect much of gifts from our loved ones. But it does not mean too that we cannot think of giving ourselves something we want like for me I am thinking of this Italian herb garden as a new mother gift idea for my own self. Hubby isn’t that type to give gifts so I have come to accept that. Well I have been looking at that herb garden right now and I somehow want this for myself to place at my working table right here at home.

In case you don’t know, it is Mother’s Day already on Sunday! Our simple celebration might be in advance or postponed with hubby at work that day. Anyway, we can always go anywhere what is important for me is that we are together for some special bonding time that day.

April Fool’s Day

It is the first of April and aside from being the last day of school for the little boy, for others who wants to do foolish things it is a day for fools. this day is known to be April Fool’s Day. It has been a busy day and I didn’t notice too many people fooling around other than two blogger friends posting something which I know from the start was intended for April’s Fools Day.

So how was your day? Were you fooled by somebody or did you make a fool of other people. I hope not! I am just happy for now that this is the last day of school for the little boy and summer break officially kicks in, at least for the next three weeks until summer camp classes starts if it pushes through for the little guy.

Ten Days till the 83rd Oscars

Ten days to go to the 83rd Oscars night and that is when millions of movie lovers all over the world would watch Academy Awards ceremony and learn who will take home those prestigious trophies the winners from this year’s list of prestigious award nominees will be so proud to receive. Who would not be proud to be recognized for excellence among professionals in the movie and film industry with many great directors, actors, as well as writers. I am looking forward already to the 27th of this month to watch the Oscars with hubby.

Behind the Scene

I was over at Facebook looking over photos posted by some friends whom we have come to know through photography. I enjoyed looking into their behind the scene photos during their shoot covering the Indak-Indak sa Kadalanan during the Kadayawan Festival over the weekend. We might have missed the fun and the heat shooting at the streets this year since we opted to stay home and just watch it on TV as we are still getting well and don’t want to get more sick anymore plus hubby has work during the weekend that got in the way too. But I really had fun just looking at the pics and the fun they had shooting. Even that “face-off” between two photographers using Canon vs Nikon!

Breakfast Bonding Time

Since we will miss shooting at the Kadayawan Festival’s Indak Indak sa Kadalanan this year, hubby and I decided to have breakfast bonding time with the little boy at our fave Filipino buffet resto where we used to eat before frequently. The past few months though we decided to stop going there since I wanted to control my diet plus our expenses too! But I say eating there can be more filling and so much choices compared to when we have breakfast before at McDonalds which could cost more actually with just the meal of choice ~ chicken or whatever.

The little boy was happy and we were surprised he was really hungry. He ate four servings of pancake! Plus he drank both of our breakfast juice as they call it by himself mostly. He did not like their fresh mango juice this time. The mango fruit they used was not that ripe yet and so it tasted sour. Had we known we would just have ordered the breakfast juice for him as well and that would have saved us half the price of the mango juice. LOL!

The little boy was game when we took pictures of him as he was eating his pancake. I might not be able to upload the pix just yet. As of this writing I am sleepy and catching up to finish pending tasks since hubby and I had our own Kadayawan bonding date last night from Alladin Bajada to Central Bank for the Mindanao Trade Expo 2010 to NCCC to Gardena Fresca for dinner (our first time in that place) to Brothers Burger in Damosa where we were able to see and hear the concert from the back with a view of the backstage. Thanks to the big screen, we were able to see glimpses of the artists and celebrities who performed last night.

Unexpected

It was unexpected but she came! I was happy to see one of our old classmates who was said to be unable to attend because of another event and even before that some financial concerns might not make her attend the reunion last night. But she came right after I arrived. I was among the last to arrive. I was supposed to be arrive earlier but they had me bring the laptop for a slideshow and I forgot it that I had to go back home to get it. Anyway, the program has not started yet and we were happy she came and found time to be with us last night. Guess what? She promised to feature our reunion in the local newspaper where she works for! We look forward to that article plus the photos she might include too in that article!

Class Reunion

I don’t know why I am suddenly having second thoughts in attending the class reunion which was something that I have been looking forward to for months now. I have gotten busy here at home and especially with the little boy who needs care and attention. Now I wish after all that has happened the past week, I would be making a quick weight loss just like what I wanted to happen and achieve before I attend that reunion in more than a week from now.

I still have a few days to go and do what I want to do right. I just have to find the time to exercise and go biking! Anyway, if and when I do get to attend, I just want to enjoy the time and the chance to see and meet old friends and classmates most of whom I have not seen for more than a decade.
