Last week I think when we both fetched the little boy from school, I told hubby that I just noticed that the classroom on the left side of the school upfront now has covered windows with green blinds. Well I guess it was placed there to either to lessen the sun’s heat that comes in through the windows when it is hot outside or to protect the kids inside from being distracted by what goes on outside during class hours. Those covered windows now are placed there for s purpose.

That then reminded me of the discount window shades that I had long been interested in particularly the bamboo shades that I have long wanted to install in our place’s front window. This morning I was actually thinking of taking down the curtain not only to wash and clean it after being used there for quite sometime already but to transfer it as well to the little boy’s bedroom window.

Then I thought maybe we could just replace the silver insulator that we have placed there not only to lessen the heat of the sun that comes through the glass windows but also to avoid unwanted people (if ever there are) from seeing or peeking through the house when we are not there. Those premium bamboo shades are really nice and would make the living room more cozy and homey look. The bottom line is for me to just have covered windows while at the same time improving the look of our living room this time around. There is a certain kind of rolling shades actually that I am particularly looking for. I hope I find it soon and pray that we got a budget for that.

I can be one OC mom. Cleaning is honestly something I want and need to do almost every day at home but I just do not have much time to dedicate to in the first place. I work at home and my little boy can be a handful at most times. Especially now that he is on Christmas break vacation, I have been more busy and time seems to fly so fast each passing day of this holiday season. I am trying to enjoy it in as much as it has still been on my mind that I need to do an annual general cleaning.

Back to cleaning, I need help and hopefully it would be professional help when it comes to cleaning since this is going to be a general cleaning that I want to have the house looking as if it is brand new just like when it looked like when we moved in here a few years ago! It is something that I wish to do and finish this week. I want to do an annual general cleaning but hubby just had been so busy at work with successive days on overtime at the office, I just do not have extra hands to help me with the general cleaning at home before this year ends and better before Christmas.

I wish to have a general cleaning at home so I can usher in the new year with a looking new and clean house but with the holiday season almost over and Christmas in just a few more days, I just want to sit back, relax and enjoy the merry days ahead. But I could not do that. There’s never ending laundry to do, dishes to wash just any mom’s duties at home when we have no help. But moms note this. You need not panic there are professional cleaning services who can help you just like those from the Maid Service Reston VA that clients around Virginia had been enjoying for twenty years now providing them with ever reliable house cleaning /as well as maid service through these years. It is good to note that their service quality standards as well as their professional staff had earned top ratings from Angie’s List, Better Business Bureau, Washington Consumers Checkbook, and others. This is an assurance to old and new or prospect clients that you can truly rely on them that you will have that clean looking house when you avail of their services for your general cleaning just like what I need now.

The other day I went scouting for an art project that we could do as a great bonding activity over the holidays or maybe right after their Christmas party tomorrow. It would keep the little boy busy at home since they will be on Christmas break for more than two weeks. The teacher of the little boy told us before that he is interested more in arts. So there are times when I am not that busy that I spend time with the two of us bonding on doing art stuff at home. Maybe it is nice to become artsy once in awhile, as my sis would put it.

When I went into the bookstore the other day, aside from the colorful art materials that I wanted to buy, I was looking for this magic glos that creates a crystal clear effect on an art object that I wanted to make which needs to be waterproof. The little boy and I once saw before in an art and crafts store that something which I wanted us to do. I am just not really sure what it is called but I have the idea of what I wanted to make. Anyway, we could always experiment when it comes to making arts and crafts as long as I know that the little boy will be busy during the Christmas vacation and that he will have something to do over the holidays.

Busy still this long weekend with hubby working it through the holidays. It is gonna be laundry day maybe tomorrow if my back allows me to. Then I have something in mind that might get me busy more in the following days. I was also looking at the wires near the kitchen and somehow I have to do something about it myself since hubby is always busy. Maybe wire management is something that will solve the chaos of the tangled wires of the appliances plus the cable wires too that can be found there.

I hope hubby will be able to sit down with me the day following tomorrow when I think he will be free from his work then we could plan out something or better yet work on it immediately. I know we got to buy some stuff or maybe not and just work out someway to clean up the mess there when the wires are tied and managed well.

My sister and I had a chance to have a short online chat a few weeks ago and she was quite busy that time doing her own online window shopping for vintage tubs. Yes the idea of her shopping for something vintage excite me at that time that I told her I would be willing to help her find one during my free time.

Indeed I went on my own window shopping a week ago and I found a select range of very high quality vintage clawfoot tubs, pedestal tubs, vintage style tub faucets, exposed showers, clawfoot tub shower enclosures, even with matching sink faucets and accessories. I found more than what she was asking me to help her find. I love shopping online or at least window shopping even for vintage stuff because it a lot easier than when you physically search for them at local stores. Probably too I won’t find what she is looking for – vintage.

The tubs I have seen reminds me of those I have seen in old movies even in the movie Julie and Julia which I have seen for the nth time the other day.

You can easily shop for anything online these days. I went window shopping online yesterday for a hot and cold shower system after we saw one from Germany at the hardware store in the mall. My sister had an easier time while she was looking for flexible metal hose with full manufacturer warranty which she said was even much easier than she expected.

Now I hope I can easily shop for some affordable yet durable stuff for the home next month. I will try first in the local store and if I don’t find what I am looking for then, it is time to shop online. My other sister wanted me to do an online shopping for her one of these days since I am mostly online most of these days though there are more times in the day now that I force myself to rest or do offline work more for health sake.

I wish there would be blessings this next two months so we can have some extra money to shop online or even in the local stores for the Christmas holiday shopping.

For the second day now, we have so far successfully implemented a “NO TV” policy for the little boy’s sake. It has been an encouragement from the Montessori school owners if possible let kids especially those in preschool live without TV. I have to agree because it is so hard to censor all those shown on TV that are not good for them to see. Even Disney channel has shows that are not good for young kids.

After even reading on an article regarding the effect of young kids watching Spongebob on their ability to do work given, has made me more convinced we should go on in implementing a “no TV policy” for the little boy. We don’t watch TV often for quite sometime now but I am somewhat affected because I could no longer watch the business nightly news show on TV. I cannot find videos of it unlike TV Patrol news where you can find it in the network’s website.

<!--

But in just two days, I could already see positive effects on the little boy. He was working more productively. Going through his old books and doing other more productive use of his time. He did not mind not having TV actually because he was told that the small and big TV are damaged by his dad who actually meant that there is no cable. He said “two guba TV” referring to the TV in the living room and in his room which was rarely used before until it was recently transferred to the living room while the big TV was sent off to my sis house for safekeeping for awhile.

The funny thing though now is that he also labeled hubby’s PC as “guba” by putting a post-it on them that has the word “guba” which means hubby should not be able ot use it as well? Hahaha! Kids are kids!

Having a little baby girl learning to walk, explore and mess around the house can drive a first time mother nuts! My dear neighbor just told me her daughter has spilled her chocolate drink on their almost still new carpet in the living room. They have installed that carpet to act like some sort of cushion when their little girl started walking. She is now worried where she could have their carpet cleaned when she is expecting visitors coming over in three days time.

Well if the carpet cleaners raleigh nc services I have just read of are available here, then my dear neighbor could let go of her worries. They do carpet cleaning well one doesn’t have to worry on carpet stains at all. We don’t have a carpet though I have been wishing we could buy one. Maybe when the little boy gets old enough to be responssible not to spill on it for it would really give me so much trouble cleaning it.

The electricity tripped last night and was I just glad and relieved that it did not really go off with just me and the lil boy. I don’t really like power interruptions at night. I was at the kitchen doing the dishes when the refrigerator started to make noise as the power tripped at the same time that our LCD TV went blank in blue then black. The flashlight’s battery as I found out was almost empty and had to be recharged immediately.

Good thing it was just a power tripping. Hope there won’t be anymore of that. It could also potentially damage our appliances. Would the power company replace them? No! Worse thing is that it may also be a fire hazard. So we’d better be careful.

It is taking more time to do the laundry in the morning (during weekdays and worse on weekends) because for one, the water coming out from the waterhose to the laundry is very little. I could say that joke that a little boy’s pee flows more than the water. Water supply is not good during the morning especially when it is a school and working day. Holidays don’t even guarantee letting me expect more water flowing. People will be doing their laundry as well. This is the problem when you are living almost in the heart of the city.

I don’t have this problem when we lived in my parent’s home (nearer the main water supply that is maybe) unless there is indeed a water maintenance or water interruption but not on an almost daily basis. It seems like there is water shortage and it seems that it has been years like this but it seem not much have been done to solve it.

Today I started with the laundry half past eight in the morning and it took me more than thirty minutes to fill the washing machine with enough water. We had to get water from the bathroom where water flows better compared to that water source in the laundry roon at the back. I really dunno why or what’s the logic. We have already told the care taker but the problem persists. Anyway, I can live with it since we do the laundry only once or twice.

But the thing is doing the laundry is taking more time. Time that can be used in other house chores. But what can we do? Move into another apartment? Maybe! Or hire a patient laundry woman who can do this chore whole day while I do my online tasks! LOL!
