Ten days to go to the 83rd Oscars night and that is when millions of movie lovers all over the world would watch Academy Awards ceremony and learn who will take home those prestigious trophies the winners from this year’s list of prestigious award nominees will be so proud to receive. Who would not be proud to be recognized for excellence among professionals in the movie and film industry with many great directors, actors, as well as writers. I am looking forward already to the 27th of this month to watch the Oscars with hubby.

Here is my list of ten (10) best movies I’ve seen lately. Well not all are the best really but good enough to watch I think:

Avatar (I can watch this movie over and over again… so far)

Up (my lil boy loves this Disney-Pixar movie and we watch this at night as he doze off to sleep)

Cars (this is another Disney-Pixar movie that I love to watch over and over again)

The Time Traveller’s Wife (so touching)

Momma Mia (I love this musical movie… I can sing along while watching this movie!)

Twilight (Team Edward)

New Moon (still Team Edward… sorry Jacob)

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (I am still a Harry fan)

Alvin and the Chipmunks (not the best but just a movie I’ve seen lately and my lil boy likes it… run out of movies as of now LOL!)

This Is It (MJ is great and I am impressed with the production preparation)

I think my son has been watching too much movies. Aside from the rising electricity bill that we would want to avoid, limit or at least lessen, I am trying to turn off the TV when it is already late at night though my son is still adjusting coz his sleep pattern lately has changed like waking late at night and going back to sleep almost early morning. He watches movies usually from the time he wakes till he sleeps. But these movies are all for kids. But we have to put a limit to that coz i think even if it is so late at night he often still wants to watch. He knows how to look for the remote and he seems to have learned which buttons to press to play the next movie. Kids these days are so techie and my son is privileged enough to enjoy these blessings we have received that allows us to give him these. But then my son cannot just have too much movies. I hope he will cooperate though and make life more easy for me at night! LOL!

I am so thankful my dear lil boy slept early tonight. Last night or should I say so early this morning, he slept aroundthree in the morning as he was still so active playing while watching DVD of Barney, Cars, Shaun the Sheep, etc. I was busy late last night washing the dishes and finishing the laundry (CT’s clothes) as I want to hang them dry asap at the back knowing the weather has not been that sunny lately unlike what hubby said that we will just hang them to dry in the morning. Anyway, I have to finish some chores and other things while the lil boy slept early and di not demand to watch DVD in his room.

My son is watching another round of Mr. Bean’s Holiday movie. At least that would keep himself in the sofa in the living room while eating his biscuits after he had his second bottle of milk this mroning after he woke up. Rather than go around and walking in the treadmill. He knows how to walk in the treadmill but he won’t stay long saying after a awhile that he is tired and sweating (“Kapoy nako, singot!”) and would play it instead letting his cars and other toys roll down since the treadmill is inclined. Well I will go and watch it with him for awhile now as we eat our breakfast. Enjoy your Saturday morning!

Hubby and I were allowing our son to watch Mr. Bean the animated series which he does not like much and the real or original Mr. Bean series either at Disney Channel, ABS-CBN or in DVD which we got for him to watch. But recently we noticed that our son other than having fun and being amused at watching the show somehow imitates and exhibits behavior that reminds us of what we see in the show and somehow we think it has a bad influence on him. So hubby and I should screen the episodes that we let him watch and from the start I don’t like the animated series and I am thankful that my son does not like to watch it much.

My hubby and I noticed that our two year old son feels for Mr. Bean when he is in trouble or needs help. We know it is just a TV show or in the case today, my son was watching the Mr. Bean Holiday movie and there were scenes when Mr. Bean was trapped in a wooden shack along the road and my son started calling out “Mr. Bean!” while starting to cry. He feels that Mr. Bean in trapped and needs help to get out. We have to assure him that Mr. Bean will be just fine.

One time too, in the episode this morning where Mr. Bean was trapped in a sack and was walking around inside the sack. My son started crying when Mr. Bean, since he cannot see where he is going, got stuck in the railing. My son sensed that Mr. Bean is in trouble and he started crying. We assured him again that it is just an act and nothing bad will happen to him. He likes the real Mr. Bean and it has been a Mr. Bean frenzy in the house as he tries to remember what time Mr. Bean will be shown in Disney Channel and ABS-CBN. He does not like much though the Mr. Bean animated series as he easily gets bored watching it.

Just thinking that we go through life and make a decision on something and we can never turn back from it. So when you get to that new chapter in your life with someone whom you cannot change and refuse to change, then it is a challenge for you to accept them as they are, go on with life existing with them or make that very hard decision to move on on your own. But what if it would affect another person’s life and would make you think that you cannot be selfish, you just have to sacrifice your happiness for them to a point that you can just forget about loving your own self for their sake. Losing your self can be hard but sometimes it is a sacrifice one has to take. But on the other hand we have to go through life making hard decisions which at times are painful decisions but we must make them. I am not a caregiver but these are just some thoughts that run through my mind after I watched yesterday the latest movie of Sharon Cuneta’s Caregiver from Star Cinema. It may be a predictable movie but the realities are there. The most touching scene for me was when Sarah (Sharon) found the letter written inserted in the book given to her by her former care Mr. Morgan who had just died. I cannot remember ow the exact words but it says something like finding your own happiness as a wife and as a mother. Mothers tend to forget about their own happiness and what makes them feel alive as they sacrifice it in order to make a happy family. But often we do not realize that we lose our identity, our love for ourself. Do you think it is bad to explain? What about complain? Do we have no right? Do we always have to swallow our own wants just to give to others? A caregiver gives care… but then do you get take cared of too?
