A photo I took last Sunday… straight out of the camera (SOOC).

We were on our way home from the mall when I just decided out of the blue to take a very quick snap shot of the sky as we were crossing the street as we were about to exit the mall grounds. See those clouds? It did rain a little after we came home.

I actually missed taking snap shots of the sky. Maybe it’s time to go back to more snapshots of the sky, nature and beyond!

Clouds

A photo of a cloud which I just saw last night among my photo files. I cannot remember when exactly I took this shot. But it must have been when we were still living at my folk’s house a few years ago. I miss the naturals scenes and the vast sky that I could see when I go out of the house.

I wish hubby would find it in his heart to have us move to our own place where we have easy access to the natural wonders we could see each day and a great view of our earth’s natural beauty. Living in the heart of the city has its perks but growing up in a place like my folks’ place in a subdivision has its own perks and benefits too that I miss. If we could have both, there will be more photos of clouds and the sky to share. By the way this photo is taken straight out of camera (sooc).

Shifting Gears

Yes the thought of shifting gears in terms of camera brand did cross my mind fleetingly just out of curiosity. I have friends who use canon cameras and we did use to have a digital point and shoot camera from Canon long before we shifted to the DSLR. The point and shoot cameras these days are also more competitive in terms of specs unlike a few years ago.

Though I know I would still stick to the DSLR due to the high quality images it produces. Shifting to Canon in regards to DSLR is a possibility but when that will be realized remains a question because it would also mean we need to buy new lenses. If heaven would bless us with so much financial blessing then shifting gears may not be a question anymore. It would be great to have two choices of DSLR brand right, hubby can have the other one while I use the new one. Let’s see!

Backup

I have been busy since the other day doing some backup on our precious photo files. I have continued this effort to make a backup after remembering that we lost important files of photos. We have thousands and thousands of photos and if my hard drive crashes, that would be unimaginable. Backup is important not just with your precious photos of captured memories but with your important information as well.

Almost Full

Just recently bought a new portable external hard drive for a much needed transfer of backup files of photos from my laptop and now the new HD is almost full! What should I do? I don’t want to buy another one to make it to 1TB now. I don’t have the budget yet for that.

Maybe I should not have transferred what was already in the 1TB MyBook. Or maybe I can just ask hubby to transfer the movies that our little one watches most to the 500GB so I can use the MyBook more permanently near my laptop to access photo files at any given time. Must figure something out soon.

Behind the Scene

I was over at Facebook looking over photos posted by some friends whom we have come to know through photography. I enjoyed looking into their behind the scene photos during their shoot covering the Indak-Indak sa Kadalanan during the Kadayawan Festival over the weekend. We might have missed the fun and the heat shooting at the streets this year since we opted to stay home and just watch it on TV as we are still getting well and don’t want to get more sick anymore plus hubby has work during the weekend that got in the way too. But I really had fun just looking at the pics and the fun they had shooting. Even that “face-off” between two photographers using Canon vs Nikon!

Still Hunting

Still hunting indeed for a good digital frame that will make it easier for me to view photos. I found one in one of the stalls in the mall but the specs and features did not satisfy me and it was quite a little bit expensive given the limited features it has. I will keep watching for new stocks in an online store that I canvassed before but the item that I wanted is still out of stock though. I hope that my old friend will be able to help me finally buy one online or at the local store in their place. Wherever she buys, I wish to have a good digital photo frame soon. It has been months since I have been wanting to buy one. I truly hope I’ll find one soon that I’ll like and has the features and specs that I have long been looking for.

Down Memory Lane

Hubby was finally able to find our Canon photo files in his! We were still using a Canon P&S then. I even forgot I asked him to look for those photo files. Before he left for work this afternoon, he transferred them to my lappy and I was able to look at our old photos way back four years ago including those photos when we were preparing for the wedding and all other memories came back. I even saw my nephew who used to live with us but is now living in UK. I remember we will see him soon! I called our lil boy and showed him the photo of his cousin four years ago and he said “baby” pointing to his cousin. I told him it’s “kuya” and you will see him soon! I wonder if he still remembers me.

I also browsed through our old photos mostly food trips when we were not yet married. LOL! Yeah even then food trip was our bonding time after my work and then when he had his work. I suddenty miss living in my parents house and being with my nephews and niece. But it would sometimes be a riot when the kids won’t go to sleep then. Those were the days and I miss seeing them often. Thank goodness for these photos of happy memories. It’s nice to go down memmory lane and come to think I thought we have totally lost these photos.

Unexpected

My hubby told me that our old bloggedspot blog which we have not updated much and which i have turned over to hubby has gotten back it’s PR1! It is indeed a nice surprise and am happy to hear it is back on its track. We hope any one of us can update it more from now on despite being really busy. It might be unexpected but am happy with the recent update as most maintained, other went higher and other got at least one notch up from G!

Thank you so much for this unexpected surprise! It inspires us both to work harder and keep on going.

Have a nice Sunday and remember to hear mass as it is Palm Sunday today! Have a meaningful Holy Week ahead!

WS: Yummy Dessert-Designed Scented Candles by Candle Delight Davao

We visited the Christmas Bazaar 2008 at the Davao Convention and Trade Center yesterday and we saw this yummy dessert-designed scented candles by Candle Delight Davao. I was amused when while taking photos of their candles and talking to the owner, a group of young ladies came from my left side and they were excited. I heard one of them said “wow they’re so delicious” but when she came near she realized they were not real and edible! The owner only smiled. But these candles looked so yummy that they came back and were so delighted in it. I first saw this on TV and the owner said it was even featured at Good Housekeeping. I just forgot to ask which issue it was. She was happy to have me take photos of their lovely and and yummy looking candles, she even offered to let us in and take more photos of their display inside.

These handcrafted candles are great for souvenirs, giveaways, gifts or even for personal collection. I would love to collect them. Price range is between 50-300 for these. There are bigger ones that look like mini-cakes. This is a good giveaways for weddings. You can even use them to decorate the tables in your wedding reception venue. I will try to post some of the other photos when I get the time to resize them for posting. Now I am off to check on those gift baskets which we will probably be giving away during the Christmas party we are planning here in the apartment tenants. I am excited already for that.
