For the second day now, we have so far successfully implemented a “NO TV” policy for the little boy’s sake. It has been an encouragement from the Montessori school owners if possible let kids especially those in preschool live without TV. I have to agree because it is so hard to censor all those shown on TV that are not good for them to see. Even Disney channel has shows that are not good for young kids.

After even reading on an article regarding the effect of young kids watching Spongebob on their ability to do work given, has made me more convinced we should go on in implementing a “no TV policy” for the little boy. We don’t watch TV often for quite sometime now but I am somewhat affected because I could no longer watch the business nightly news show on TV. I cannot find videos of it unlike TV Patrol news where you can find it in the network’s website.

But in just two days, I could already see positive effects on the little boy. He was working more productively. Going through his old books and doing other more productive use of his time. He did not mind not having TV actually because he was told that the small and big TV are damaged by his dad who actually meant that there is no cable. He said “two guba TV” referring to the TV in the living room and in his room which was rarely used before until it was recently transferred to the living room while the big TV was sent off to my sis house for safekeeping for awhile.

The funny thing though now is that he also labeled hubby’s PC as “guba” by putting a post-it on them that has the word “guba” which means hubby should not be able ot use it as well? Hahaha! Kids are kids!

Getting some me time watching TV and with Masterchef showing late at night while the lil boy had dozed off a few hours ago. Watching this cooking show reminded me also of that restaurant that the TV show UZ featured and I once again saw those photos of a nice restaurant using old as well as some new restaurant furniture such as booths, bar stools, and chairs like those simple stacking chairs to high end fine dining furniture that would be great to have in a nice home as well. Those furniture I have seen in that new resto in an old place were mostly personal collections of a family clan. Now they made use of them in a restaurant near the Palace.

Okay back to Masterchef after a commercial break, I saw an old episode where they went to Paris for a cooking a challenge. Just like the winners of this cooking challenge, I want to go to Paris one day! Who doesn’t?But for now I am just as happy seeing and watching them cook in Paris!

I finally saw part of an episode of the Biggest Loser and seeing the contestants gave me hope that my weight concern is not as big as theirs. Still it does not give me any right to just go on and eat all I can once again. My friend told me it’s either you go for it or not. Lose or gain more. When she asked me if I’d want to buy liporexall or any other fat burning supplement, I say I would try the natural means first – exercise, diet control, and what other natural options there is for me.

I may not be a contestant in this TV show where overweight contestants vie to be the biggest loser but I am at my own level one in them to become determined to change our lives and live healthier lives at that. I’ look forward to hopefully watching the next episode for more motivation to lose weight.

I got some time to watch TV in my son’s room in the comfort of the cozy sofa that we placed there, while he took he dozed off to sleep earlier this evening. I only wish this TV had a cable. Maybe it is time for me to remind dear hubby about those tv cables that he mentioned before and maybe we can install or extend the cable to this room sometime soon. Well that is if he has time to spare even in his busy day-off from work.

I am waiting for some cooking show on TV but found none at this time. I forgot what time they air that local cooking show I used to watch mostly last year. Maybe that show is no longer airing anyway. At least for now I got a few minutes to relax and watch TV before I go back to finish some important work here at home.

The little boy got to finally sleep and have his afternoon nap while I get to change the channel and watch my own preferred TV show. I ended up catching up watching a show from a popular wedding magazine. They featured almost everything that a couple needs to know and consider in their preparation for the big day – their wedding. I love the bridal gowns that they featured on the show. They remind me of Liz Fields spring 2011 bridal gown collection below!

They are gorgeous wedding dresses, aren’t they? Those romantic ruffles are just a few of the embellishments available to you at affordable prices.

Yesterday I was thinking maybe it was not a good idea to put the small and big TV near each other in the living room. I wanted to watch news on the small TV which is nearest my table and I also wanted this certain TV show that I wanted to watch and listen to yesterday afternoon but then I cannot concentrate since the two boys were talking a lil bit loud behind my back plus the big TV was on as requested by the lil boy. I had to ask them to stop talking for awhile at one point as the discussion on TV came to an important topic that I don’t want to miss getting any important information from.

I even asked hubby if there is an option to be able to watch TV anywhere and he said he heard about this Slingbox that allows you to watch and control your favorite TV source anywhere on your laptop or mobile phone. So okay there is an option but given the comfort in staying in my own space and place in the living room where I work and where there is a small TV beside me, I hope next time though I need not have to move anywhere in order to watch TV.

The lil boy likes watching SpongeBob so much lately and won’t watch other more educational cartoons on TV so we have to enforce something and hubby got Dora the Explorer and it was what the lil boy watched whole day.

We still have to find Go Diego, Go! which seems more appropriate for the lil boy though Dora is also a good choice for cartoons since it is educational. We hope he won’t tire easily watching Dora until we find the Diego series.

The news about the flood and its victims since yesterday is really depressing and has been affecting me since last night as I was so close to tears already hearing and seeing on TV the really sad predicament of the people in Luzon who were really affected. It is even more depressing to think of the young victims, missing children and their loved ones, properties lost much more for the 51 lives that has been lost due to the tropical storm and flood that hit them there. I even stopped watching the TV other than the press conference being held by the government and NDCC. I heard there were even military people who went missing last night as they tried to help with the rescue operations. The heavy rainfall yesterday for six hours had been one of the major reason behind this. We pray for the souls of those who died and for their families who are still coping and struggling to rebuild their homes and lives again after this.

I have been trying to divert myself the past few days just for awhile so that I may hopefully forget some not good things to think of anymore so I got back to watching TV at night for the past few days and I dunno but I have been watching Dahil May Isang Ikaw, the new drama series of Jericho Rosales and Kristine Hermosa in their comeback love team at ABS-CBN. I like the little girl Mika dela Cruz (the real life younger sister of Angelika dela Cruz) who play the little Angela Ramirez/Ella Alferos which is the character played later on by Kristine Hermosa.

And then there is of course Tayong Dalawa which has a new twist where Dave is running for congressman but the usual etch etch here and there as expected. TD has been a fave when it started but lost touch on me after awhile then and now am watching hopefully to see the last part of the episodes.

I am actually half watching and half listening to these teleseryes while doing online stuff. Simply just to entertain myself and divert my thoughts. My son is also there to almost always divert my attention and often I have not much time to focus on doing online stuff.

My boys and I went to People’s Park after we had a late lunch at Grub Cafe Resto yesterday afternoon. We want our lil boy to see the park and have fun there. Indeed he had fun and he even got instant fans from nursing students who were seated in the benches at one part of the park and saw him walking around with his hands clasped on his back. Anyway, we were amused as well since he posed and smiled at them when they called his attention.

But for hubby and me, what caught our attention as we went around was this pond and if I am not mistaken this must be the retention pond with the curtain falls you can see at the background. My first impression and thought when I saw this was please clean this pond! This pnd badly needs one of those pond filters from Pond World which has pressurized pond filters and filters that uses mechanical, biological, chemical and even UV filtration so that no matter what type of system is needed, they can accommodate it. I think the city government can think about cleaning this since this is a tourist attraction of the city where many tourists and balik-bayans are coming to see the popular park here in Davao. Hope they can set additional budget for the maintainance not only of this pond but of the other facilities in the park as well.
