I wanna share this email from our Alumni director through the alumni email blast. It is still quite early but since time flies so fast that I am posting this early on for next month November the month of Holy Souls as they named it. I think this is not only open to Ateneans but for all.
If you wish to be a partner of the Philippine Jesuit Aid Association (PJAA) in helping in the work of the long formation of young Jesuit scholastics and brothers which has been their mission as well as in caring for the health of Jesuits who are sick in our Jesuit Infirmaries, you may send your donation with the details given towards the end of the email below. Even without your donation to PJAA, you may send in your list of departed loved ones, relatives, friends and batch mates through email at alumni@addu.edu.ph or to Mrs. Melfa Tizon, at melfa@addu.edu.ph.
God bless the souls of our dearly departed!
November: a month of memories
A time to remember our Beloved Dead
A time to realize that they are also important to us.
A time to reflect and pray for our relatives and friends
And all who have gone ahead of us.Be part of
the PJAA November Drive
Greetings from the Ateneo de Davao !
As November, the month of Holy Souls for Catholics, approaches, it is good to recall once again our Catholic practice of praying for our dear departed relatives and friends and school batchmates. The recent RIP eposts from our Alumni Office about the passing on to eternal life of a number of our Ateneo de Davao alumni, and of their parents or siblings, are reminders to us, the living, of the much appreciated value of praying for our dear departed.
As a Catholic University, the Ateneo de Davao, together with the other five Ateneos, two other Jesuit schools, namely Xavier School in Greenhills (Metro Manila) and Sacred Heart School – Jesuit in Cebu, and other Jesuit communities and institutions and parishes in the Philippines, has had a long tradition, in cooperation with the Philippine Jesuit Aid Association, of observing the whole month of November as the month dedicated to praying for our dear departed.
It is in the spirit of this long tradition, that I extend this yearly invitation to the Catholics among our alumni and friends, to send to the Ateneo de Davao Alumni Office or to the Office of the Philippine Jesuit Aid Association (PJAA) in Manila the names of their departed relatives and friends and classmates so they can be included in the Masses and prayers of Jesuits in Davao and in the rest of the Philippines during the whole month of November. Non-Catholics are welcome to also send the names of their departed relatives and friends, if they wish to do so.
If you reside in Davao City, you may use the PJAA forms found in the ADDU University Chapel on our Jacinto campus, and in the Matina Campus. You may also use email to send us your list of departed relatives, friends and batchmates at alumni@addu.edu.ph or to my assistant, Mrs. Melfa Tizon, at melfa@addu.edu.ph
If you wish to take this occasion to become a partner of the Philippine Jesuit Aid Association in its mission of helping in the work of the long formation of our young Jesuit scholastics and brothers, and in the health care of Jesuits who are sick in our Jesuit Infirmaries, some of whom you may know, you may send your donation with your PJAA form. If you use the postal service, please use a check or a money order addressed to the PHILIPPINE JESUIT AID ASSOCIATION, 2307 Pedro Gil St., Sta. Ana, 1009 Manila. Davao residents who enclose a cash amount with their list of the names of their dear departed may safely deposit their form in the locked repository in the Jacinto Campus Chapel.
If more convenient you may also use the bank account number of the Philippine Jesuit Aid Association to make an offering to the Philippine Jesuit Aid Association – Account Number: 3221-016156, BPI Sta. Ana Branch, in Sta. Ana, Manila. The email address of the PJAA is philjesuitaid@yahoo.com Kindly advise the PJAA if you make a donation via a bank-to-bank transfer. Telephone numbers of the PJAA are 563-5290 and 563-5296. The Director of the Philippine Jesuit Aid Association is Fr. Reynaldo F. Ocampo, S.J. No blood relation to me.
You are encouraged to send in your list of dear departed, even if you do not include any offering to the PJAA at this time.Thank you very much!
A Blessed Month of October! God bless you and your loved ones.
